CHOICE Scenario #2

The setting is Courtland Park High School, where members of the famed "Courtland Park Warriors" basketball team are having a very special celebration. Their star player, Shaun Preston, has returned after a junior conference playoff game. Shaun has been absent for most of mid-season due to a serious knee injury that has jeopardized his ability to play for the rest of the period. The injury may negate his chances of winning a scholarship to play at a top ten college.

Although this situation has made Shaun listless and depressed, he has been hiding his feelings from his friends and family. Some have noticed that Shaun has become more irritable in situations where he used to show calm. He has also missed many school functions and parties since his release from the hospital. He spends much more time in his room watching videos and surfing the web.

On this particular day a special team party has been set up to celebrate the Warriors' victory, as well as to also welcome back Shaun. His best friend Mason conceived this party. Although he is not thrilled, Shaun puts on his "game face" and tries to get through the celebration. He is seated in the middle of the school gym, with crutches, while the others surround him military style. Mason, who is leading the formation, begins the team chant.
