Sponsors Sponsoring Organizations The initial year of the CHOICE program is supported by a grant from the Community Health Foundation of Central and Western New York. A non-profit private foundation, its mission is to improve the health and health care of the people of Western and Central New York. The project is sponsored by the Buffalo Ensemble Theatre (BET), a 501(c)-3 non-profit performing arts organization whose mission includes, in part, providing learning opportunities for youth. Business Theatre Works, a workplace diversity training consultancy whose work is strongly based in the theatre arts, developed the CHOICE program in collaboration with highly experienced education and healthcare professionals. A major partner in the project, BTW will also deliver the program vignettes to participants. The CHOICE team would like to thank D'Youville College and Kaleida Health for their invaluable assistance in developing and presenting this program Imagine What We Could Accomplish Together Consider the need: over the next twenty years, the requirement for health professionals will increase substantially. At the same time, many at-risk students will choose employment options that take them away from productive, satisfying careers. Countless more will miss out on needed healthcare, simply because they do not know how to find or use the resources that already exist in their own community. The CHOICE program intends to be one solution to this challenge. Please contact us to learn more about how, working together, we can inform youth on healthcare accessibility while encouraging them to consider careers in healthcare. |
